The Icefields Parkway - one of the world's most scenic roadways

After our short stay in Jasper (Alberta), we drove on one of the world’s most scenic roadways called the Icefields Parkway. This is a 142-mile drive who connects Jasper and Banff Nationalparks. On this specific road there are a lot of different spots to visit. One of them is the Athabasca Glacier on Columbia Icefield.

We took the opportunity to squeeze in a quick stop and walked till the end of the actual ice front. Impressive how the glacier melted during the last 30 years due to global warming.

Also the Canadians try to get the most of their nature by offering a ride over the evil ice with specially designed snow coaches, called Glacier Express ;-)

Our journey over Icefields Parkway was awesome...
Although the sunny weather, we underestimated how cold it has to be on a glacier...
A Canadian way to preserve the nature ;-)
Below some more impressions of the scenic landscape on this roadway:

Lake Peyto - another lovely place we checked out on our way to Banff:

A tipically tourist subject... hihi!
